The Fund for Educational Excellence proudly runs the Heart of the Schools year-round program.

As Baltimore City’s only public education fund, the Fund for Educational Excellence plays a unique and vital role in improving educational opportunities and outcomes for our city’s youth. We serve as a champion for students in our public schools, dedicated to making Baltimore City Public Schools a place where every child can thrive academically and receive the support, he or she needs ˗ and deserves ˗ to succeed in college, career, and life.

We do this by:

• Publishing reports that combine strong analytics with significant community input to address some of the most pressing problems facing our students.
• Convening diverse organizations and education partners to identify, facilitate, and accelerate important efforts in our city including access to summer programming and meals for our neediest children.
• Providing superior stewardship of over $20 million in private philanthropic support for innovative programs improving academic outcomes for Baltimore City Public Schools students.
