MESSAGES OF APPRECIATION

In addition to events and direct funding, we run campaigns to share messages of appreciation year-round with principals and school staff. These are solicited from teachers, parents, and partners – people who are closest to the work and whose words of positivity have the biggest impact.

In partnership with principals, we create school-level Share Some Love campaigns annually that facilitate notes of appreciation for school staff members. Schools are responsible for communicating about the campaign and the Heart of the Schools provides the campaign infrastructure to process the notes and transform them into graphics, at which point the principal delivers them to staff members.

As an example, Forest Park High School created a “Park of Appreciation” and we secured WBAL to film and report the unveiling. With over 500 Share Some Love notes, every Forest Park High School faculty member was recognized with heartfelt messages from students, colleagues, parents and community members.

WBAL Story

Over the last two years, we’ve generated over 12,000 notes of positivity for school staff members!

Princi-Pal-entines and Sharing HOSA Nominations

With the permission of the person sharing the nomination, we also share the powerful messages included in nominations directly with principals in two ways. First, we select one nomination to turn into a designed Princi-Pal-entine and send it to the principal on Valentine’s Day. We then follow up by sharing all nominations with the principal so they can see all the love they have from their school communities.
